This Wikihouse was one of the first proper projects in my first year at uni.We had to alter, manipulate, and re-imagine a standard WikiHouse structure so that it can accommodate one of six old pub games. Though some of the games can already fit in the WikiHouse, we had to consider accommodating an audience, as this project is seen as a celebration of a mostly lost form of entertainment.
The proposal had two states; one Closed when it is a WikiHouse and stores the equipment for the games; and one Open when it is used for playing the games and attracting an audience. The name for the proposal for both these conditions is the WAGs House. The WAGs House is to be a deployable structure that can be transported to different sites. The structure I had to design should enable users to play Shuffleboard. Through doing this project I explored how the physical movement, behaviours, and interactions of humans can dictate the architecture that serves them and how a clear, thorough, and creative understanding of function can drive architectural expression in its form, space, light, and materiality.
